Its not a band wagon to get onto and to show our commitment Rhoms is one of only 2 South African companies in wooden flooring that is actually certified by the world wide body FSC (Forest Stewardship Council www.fsc.org) since 2005.
We were the 1st flooring company in South Africa to achieve this and have been committed to products that come from sustainable and renewable resources and very importantly are manufactured in a socially responsible manner. It’s the whole process that must be correct.
It is not sufficient to say the producer is FSC certified your retailer must have a chain of custody certificate (COC) to deal in these products in the correct way and to ensure that their practices do not taint the whole process of sustainability.
Our certificate number is SGS COC 002403 and is subject to annual audit and verification by SGS. We believe in and are committed to this process. Enquiries/Sales of FSC Certified range of products only at our Selby branch.
Our laminate floors are FSC certified. We are really green and are doing something tangible about it. Our engineered flooring follows the age old tradition of using block board, with FSC timbers and the rare resource as a top layer.
This allows us not only to be Green Responsible but also produce a superior product. Being eco responsible does not mean that we have cut back on quality or charge more.
